Late on election night, Oct. 25, European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen and European Council President António Costa congratulated  the Student List and offered to help advance Serbia's path toward the European Union. Marta Kos, the EU's enlargement commissioner, declared that "the door to the EU is open."
